Dieter Ernst

Dieter Ernst is a full-time researcher at the "East-West Center" in Honolulu, Hawaii. He is specialist on industrial policy issues, information technology and innovation in the United States, China, India and other emerging economies. He has professionally served as a scientific advisor to governments, private companies, and international organizations such as the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the World Bank, the Asian National Research Office, the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization. His highlight researches are about global production networks, Research and Development (R&D) in high-tech industries and knowledge economies in Asian countries. In addition, he has published multiple studies about intellectual property rights regimes and standardization policies in Asia (especially China) and the United States.
